Executive Director Bruce Potts

Joined in 2009 (associated with IFM Investors since 1999)

Bruce is responsible for co-managing the IFM Specialised Credit Fund (SCF) and is also involved in credit analysis and product development within the Debt Investments Team. Prior to joining IFM Investors, Bruce was the portfolio manager in charge of credit investments at AllianceBernstein. Bruce has been involved in SCF since its inception in 1999 and during that time, controlled SCF’s asset allocation and the implementation of its investment policy as well as overseeing its investments. Prior to this, Bruce held various positions within National Mutual (later National Mutual Funds Management) where he was involved in a range of treasury and investment operations and direct portfolio management of client funds, focussing on short-end and structured assets. As a credit specialist, he was closely engaged in the evolving asset backed securities market (including RMBS), across the credit risk spectrum. Bruce also has considerable experience investing in hybrids as well as PPP assets, particularly for backing annuity liabilities. In his early career, Bruce was an academic at Monash University in the fields of economics, taxation and business finance.

Darren Pasco

Darren is responsible for managing IFM Investors’ cash portfolios and short term interest rate risk. His responsibilities also include FX portfolio management for internal and external portfolios, and he also drives economic research and analysis within the broader team.  Previously Darren was assistant manager in Members Equity’s treasury area, managing the money market asset and liability books, trading interest rate swaps, futures and FX.  Darren has also worked with Swiss Re Asset Management in fixed income and as a fund accountant with National Custodian Services. Darren has completed a Masters Degree in Applied Finance.

David Cooper

Joined in 2012

David is responsible for driving the expansion of IFM’s infrastructure debt investment capabilities into the UK and Europe. He is also charged with sourcing infrastructure debt deals in Europe and conducting credit analysis of prospective investments, as well as managing and marketing IFM’s capability in this speciality. David has 18 years experience in banking focused on project finance, infrastructure debt and structured credit. He joined IFM from Barclays, where he was Head of Infrastructure and Structured Project Finance for their Corporate Bank. David began his banking career with RBS, where he focused on structured and public sector finance globally, then moved to HBOS plc. At HBOS, David worked in the origination team of the Infrastructure Finance unit, where he was responsible for sourcing and executing senior debt, mezzanine and equity in the PPP, transportation and energy sectors.

Hannah Lindberg

Hannah is responsible for the analysis of prospective infrastructure debt deals for debt investment products and services in North America. She has previously worked at Barclays Corporate as an Assistant Vice-President in the Restructuring Business Support team, where she was responsible for providing deal support and undertaking credit risk analysis. Prior to this, Hannah spent two years in the Barclays Corporate Graduate Scheme.

Hiran Wanigasekera

Hiran is responsible for the analysis of credit and infrastructure debt investments as well as their ongoing monitoring. He was previously with the Debt Investments Team in the UK, responsible for infrastructure debt credit analysis, portfolio management and trading. Hiran is highly skilled in credit research, hedging, financial reporting and prudential compliance. Prior to joining IFM Investors, Hiran was employed in the retail banking industry by bankmecu as a financial accountant. His responsibilities included treasury management, financial reporting and prudential compliance.

Jessica Thompson

Jessica is responsible for originating, executing and managing infrastructure debt investments in North America. Jessica previously worked at The Royal Bank of Scotland as Vice President in Power Project Finance, where she was responsible for executing structure project financing, capital raising and providing advice to clients in the power, utilities and renewable sector. Prior to this she held the role of Associate in Corporate Finance Advisory.

Jing Guo

Jing is responsible for credit analysis, initial due diligence and ongoing monitoring of investments, with a focus on infrastructure debt assets in Australia. Jing has over 14 years of banking and investment experience with most recent role being Director at Westpac’s Infrastructure and Utilities group, where he worked for over five years and was responsible for credit coverage of a wide range of infrastructure companies. Prior to this, he was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers Asset Management Australia focusing on fixed income products. He also held corporate banking roles with HSBC in Australia and JP Morgan and Mizuho in New York.

John Carey

John is responsible for the origination, analysis and execution of infrastructure debt investments in the UK and Europe. John brings over 13 years’ experience in infrastructure to his role at IFM Investors. He joined the firm from Moody’s, where he was Senior Analyst in Infrastructure Finance, focused on ratings of European PFI/PPP and airport credits. Prior to this, John was Director in the infrastructure and project finance team at Barclays, having joined that firm in 2008 as Associate Director. He has also held roles at Financial Guaranty Insurance and KPMG.

Kevin is primarily responsible for originating and managing infrastructure debt investments as well as establishing infrastructure debt portfolios. Kevin has over 20 years commercial experience in senior executive/analyst roles and for the past 15 years has specialised in infrastructure and utilities companies/projects building on his involvement in state government privatisations in the ‘90s. His most recent previous position was Director and Portfolio Manager, Infrastructure & Utilities, Westpac Institutional Bank (Melbourne). Prior to that he was Director of Asia-Pacific Energy Utilities Team with Fitch Ratings (Brisbane). He has also worked with Standard & Poor's, the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance as well as Elders.

Lillian Nunez

Lillian is responsible for providing credit analysis, investment recommendations and portfolio monitoring support to the Debt Investments Group. Lillian joined ME Bank in May 2000 as Business Lending Manager within Business Banking. In January 2002, she joined the Capital Markets team as a Portfolio Manager responsible for securitisation fund raising for the Superannuation Members Home Loans and Maxis Home Loans programmes. In October 2005 she joined the funds management team as Portfolio Analyst. Prior to this period, Lillian was employed with Credit Suisse First Boston as a Senior Credit Analyst, Risk Management providing credit analysis, industry sector research and lending recommendations for the Australian and New Zealand Corporate Lending business.

Lucy Dale

Lucy is responsible for originating, executing and managing infrastructure debt investments in Europe. Lucy was previously a Manager within the infrastructure finance team of SMBC Europe and prior to that undertook a similar role at West LB in London. During her time in those roles, Lucy was instrumental in a number of high profile transactions including London Gateway, Copenhagen Airport refinancing and London Gatwick Airport refinancing. Lucy started her career in the financial advisory team in PwC and during her time there spent over a year on secondment to the UK Government’s Department of Transport working across a number of key policy areas including Airport Regulation and Crossrail.

Matthew Wade

Matthew is responsible for growing the debt origination capabilities from the firm’s New York office. Matthew brings over 15 years of industry experience to the team. Prior to joining IFM Investors, Matthew was the Director of Project Finance at the Royal Bank of Canada in New York, where he was responsible for originating, structuring and executing finance and advisory solutions in the energy and infrastructure sectors. Prior to that, he held positions with Royal Bank of Scotland in both New York and London, where he worked in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Nick Zannis

Nick supports the activities of the Debt Investments Team in North America, primarily by producing credit assessments on infrastructure debt investments. He was previously with the IFM Investors’ Debt Investments Team in Australia, responsible for on assessing issuers in the cash, fixed income and structured finance markets. Prior to joining IFM Investors, Nick was with ME Bank for five years as Senior Financial Reporting Analyst in the Financial Markets team. His key responsibilities included ensuring regulation and reporting compliance, producing reports and analysis for investors and internal forums, and advising investors and external clients in relation to investment performance. Nick also provided credit analysis to the funds management team on investment grade financial institutions. Nick has experience as a Business Services and Taxation Accountant to complement his knowledge of financial products and markets, fund accounting and securitisation. Nick is currently completing his Masters in Applied Finance.

Rich Randall

Rich is responsible for the creation and management of IFM Investors’ debt investments strategies and portfolios, and for the debt investments team globally. He also heads IFM Investors’ North American debt investment business. Based in New York, Rich has more than 20 years of experience in originating, analysing, structuring and arranging debt facilities for large infrastructure projects. Rich’s experience includes fixed and floating rate debt instruments across a broad credit and industry spectrum, and he has a specialty in the US energy sector, which is the primary source of infrastructure debt issuance in North America. Rich joined IFM Investors after 10 years with RBS, where he was Head of Project Finance in North America. He also managed and was responsible for the bank’s US$3 billion portfolio of infrastructure investments. Prior to RBS, Rich spent nine years with Credit Agricole (Credit Lyonnais) as a senior banker structuring, analysing and underwriting project finance debt.

Scott Barker

Scott leads the Australian based debt investments team which includes cash, bond and credit strategies. Previously Scott had joint responsibility for managing the Specialised Credit Fund. He previously worked at Western Asset Management, a specialist credit fixed income manager, and its predecessor in Australia, Citigroup Asset Management, where he was Vice President, Fixed Income. Scott’s experience covers analysis of, and investing in, a broad range of credit and traditional fixed income products covering traditional duration based and specialist credit portfolios, annuity matching funds for insurance companies and cash/cash enhanced funds. He has been involved in a diverse range of transactions as a buyer and a seller, including PPP infrastructure, securitisation, structured credit and hybrid deals. Scott’s experience covers Australian and offshore markets. In previous roles he worked for Westpac in corporate banking and financial markets focusing on debt capital markets origination and sales, interest rate risk management, foreign exchange and money markets. This included a period in London.

Simon Tung

Joined in 2006

Simon is responsible for portfolio management and asset selection for government bond and high yield debt strategies and has overseen the implementation of vanilla debt indexing capability. He also drives the team’s strategic investment thought process. Simon started his career at Westpac where he spent a year on the graduate program before being appointed to the role of Institutional Dealer on the Money Market desk. Simon was then appointed to National Mutual Funds Management where he initially spent one year in the investments team as a Quantitative Analyst working on projects across different asset classes. He then moved into a strategy role within the International Equities area at AXA Investment Management focusing primarily on country allocation and asset allocation strategy. Simon then worked at National Australia Financial Management as a Senior Research Analyst, before moving to the Treasury Corporation of Victoria where he spent six years initially as Senior Quantitative Analyst and then as Manager, Treasury Quantitative Services.
