Joined in 2007 (associated with IFM Investors since 1999)
Robin is the Chair of both the IFM Investors Investment Committee and Risk Committee. He was previously the firm’s Global Head of Debt Investments, responsible for the creation and management of IFM Investors’ debt investments strategies and portfolios, and for the debt investments team. Robin started his career in Mining Engineering, qualifying in 1975. After ten years he switched into banking and project finance. He worked in a variety of lending, risk management and senior credit roles in National Australia Bank (NAB). In 1998 he moved across into a NAB funds management subsidiary to take credit skills into its fixed interest business. In 1999 he began his long association with IFM Investors, managing infrastructure debt investments for what has since become the IFM Specialised Credit Fund. Later, he built out the IFM Investors Debt Investments Team’s presence in London and New York. As well as covering many facets of credit, risk management and investment, his taking these skills and experience into funds management was ahead of the mainstream adoption of credit as an asset class in Australia. In particular, he was closely involved with the emergence of infrastructure debt as an asset class for institutional investors.
